Download the Beats app from the Google Play store, then use it to pair your Beats products with your Android device. After you pair your Beats, you can view and adjust settings in the app.

To use the Beats app, you must have:

Pair your devices

Hold your Beats product next to your Android device to see the pairing card:

If you don't see the pairing card, you might need to allow location access:

1. Go to Settings > Security & location > Location.
2. Make sure that 'Use location' is turned on.
3. Open the Beats app.
4. Tap the menu in the upper-left corner of the app, and select App Settings.
5. Select Android Settings > Permissions, and make sure that Location is turned on.

View and change your settings

Open the Beats app to see the battery level of your device, change the name of your device, or adjust other settings.

You can see the battery level at the top of the screen, above the name of your Beats product.

Check for firmware updates

If you see a notification that says that you need to update your firmware, follow the instructions in the notification to update.

Rename your Beats

1. Tap Rename.
2. Enter a name. If you want the app to generate a name for you, tap 'Generate a name.'

Register your Beats

1. Tap Register.
2. Tap Serial Number and enter the serial number of your Beats product.

Find your serial number

In the 'Under the hood' section, look for 'Serial number.'

Turn on and charge your earphones

To turn your earphones on or off, press and hold the power button on your left earbud for 1 second.

The first time that you power on your Powerbeats, they're ready to pair with your device. The indicator light will flash to confirm that your Powerbeats are in pairing mode.

Charge your Powerbeats

Plug your earphones into a power source using the included Lightning cable. Your earphones provide up to 15 hours of playback from a full charge, and up to 1 hour of playback from a 5-minute charge.

When your earphones are turned on and set up, the LED indicator light on the left earphone shows how much listening time is left:

• White: Up to 15 hours left
• Red: Less than an hour left
• Blinking red: Needs to charge

Pair with an iPhone

Follow these steps to pair your earphones with your iPhone:

1. Make sure that your iPhone is unlocked, and that Bluetooth is on.
2. Hold your Powerbeats next to your iPhone.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Pair with your Mac or another device that uses Bluetooth

Follow these steps to pair your Powerbeats with your Mac, iPad, or any other device:

1. Press the button on your left earbud until you see the indicator light flash. Your Powerbeats are now in pairing mode.
2. On your device, go to the Bluetooth menu.
3. Select your earphones from the list of discovered Bluetooth devices.

• To pause or play audio, press the 'b' button once.
• To skip to the next track, press the 'b' button twice.
